About FVA-Freeport
Program
The FVA program starts in December and concludes in April at a fun,
competitive multiple day event at the WI Dells Sports Center. Our teams
compete in 1-2 tournaments (typically on Sundays) per month throughout
the season in Freeport, Machesney Park, Marengo, Aurora, etc. Players
have at least 2-2 hour team practices per week at our "home site" the
Fitness Lifestyles Center (FLC). The FLC provides Fusion with the
opportunity to have multiple teams practicing at one time enabling
quality scrimmage time within our teams. Quality touches and technique
are the cornerstone for our athletes success. FVA trains its athletes
under a "master coach" system of training. This is a proven system that
provides a consistent progression of teaching the skills of volleyball
within each age division. This will create a more competitive practice
environment and promote the development of individual skill. For
example, an athlete on a 15-3 team will receive the same technical
training as an athlete on the 15-1 team. As the "Master Coach" will be
responsible for developing all the practice plans for each age division.
Under the MC, there will be one "Lead Coach" at each age division to
assist the MC with the development of that group. All FVA coaches are
Impact certified. Our coaching staff attends multiple coaching clinics
with the top college and club coaches in the area. We believe that
teaching proper technique and fundamentals by our unified coaching staff
in a fun intense environment that our athletes will have a strong
foundation for their level of success.
Multi-Sport Athletes
Flexibility for the multi-sport athlete ~ Fusion requires athletes to
provide competition schedules to their coach prior to the start of their
season. Fusion allows multi-sport athletes, but expects athletes to
communicate as early as possible with the coach any conflicts and to make-up
missed practices with another team that week. FVA staff works to design a
practice schedule that works best for each team and their other scheduled
commitments. Due to this flexibility in the practice schedule FVA teams are
practicing typically every day of the week allowing amble make-up times for
our athletes as well as opportunities for extra practice time for any
athlete.
Recruiting Process is 2nd to none!
Club
Fusion's recruiting process is second to none! Our success in the recruiting
process is due in no small part to our recruiting director, Jim Mohr, and his
dedication to finding the right school for each athlete. Jim works with the
families to educate them on the process and creates a profile for each player
that is directed towards understanding their wants and needs in finding the
right school. This service is open to all Fusion athletes and their families at
no additional expense. Club Fusion Volleyball has a close relationship with
multiple college coaches many in which visit the Fusion facility on a weekly
basis. These collegiate coaches have the utmost respect for our athletes and
Fusion coaches. This is a free service offered to all Fusion families.
